Whakapapa i te Ora | Tukaha Milne & Moe Milne

Moe Milne & Tukaha Milne joined us as our Pū Kōrero for day two of the Toi Tangata Hui ā-Tau 2026. Their kōrero leaves us with the simple message that the power is already in our hands: whakapapa is not just something we inherit and hold onto - it is something we actively nurture and pass on.

Through reo, tikanga, mātauranga and whānau, they challenge us to look beyond the immediate horizon and titiro atu ki te ākau roa… to see the bigger picture and the generations yet to come.

Moe Milne is a highly-respected Māori health leader, long-time nurse, and passionate advocate for te reo Māori as a foundation for wellbeing, with decades of experience supporting whānau and shaping mental health services across Aotearoa. Tukaha Milne brings his lived experience, insights, and energy to the kaupapa. Between the two of them they reflect a strong intergenerational commitment to Māori health and wellbeing.
