Toi Tangata is proud to once again support the 2026 Indigenous Wellbeing Conference (IWC26), being held 12–13 October in Canberra on Ngunnawal Country.
This year’s theme, On Our Terms: Indigenous Leadership, Wellbeing and Future, strongly aligns with the kaupapa we continue to champion here at Toi Tangata — Indigenous peoples defining wellbeing on our own terms, grounded in our own mātauranga, identities, environments and aspirations.
Across two days, IWC26 will bring together Indigenous leaders, practitioners, researchers, community organisations and decision-makers from across Australia, Aotearoa and the Pacific. The programme will explore Indigenous leadership and self-determination, community authority, culturally grounded models of care, healing and accountability, Indigenous knowledge systems, economic sovereignty, and the future of Indigenous wellbeing.
For Toi Tangata, opportunities like IWC26 are about more than attending another conference. They are opportunities to strengthen our hononga with Indigenous whanaunga, share what is working within our respective communities, challenge the systems that continue to define wellbeing for us, and bring home new whakaaro that can strengthen our own mahi across Aotearoa.
If your mahi contributes to better outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Māori or Pasifika peoples and communities, we encourage you to consider joining us in Canberra.
And even better our Toi Tangata network can receive 10% off registration. Simply use the discount codeTOITANGATA when registering.
